Chrissy and John were seen spending some quality time with Luna and Miles at a park in Beverly Hills on saturday, March 7th 2020.
Chrissy is the cover star of the Spring/Summer 2020 issue of Glamour UK. The issue comes with 3 collectable covers. Here’s a short part of her interview, head over to glamour for the whole interiew.
In fact, at 34, after spending “decades” criticising her body, Chrissy is no longer interested in berating herself. “I used to weigh myself every morning, afternoon and night. I knew what the scales would say after each meal. I did that for eight years and had this one weight I wanted to be at. That changed with Luna, and really changed with Miles [her son, two], where it took me a year to be comfortable with my new normal number.“I do look at [my body] in the shower and think, ‘Arghhh, these kids’. But I don’t take the aesthetics so seriously now. It’s very fulfilling not having that pressure of putting on a swimsuit and looking good for a magazine while running around a beach, which I did when I was modelling. I don’t feel like my body is where I’m going to be sh*tty to myself, either. I’m already thinking enough things I am mad at myself about, I can’t add my body into it,” she smiles.
In an almost perfectly timed entrance, her three-legged French Bulldog, Penny, sashays into the room having just been “fat shamed” by the vet. “She’s getting older – wait, this is me talking to myself – you’re getting older and your metabolism is slowing down,” Chrissy laughs.
While stroking her dog, Chrissy talks about her modelling years – she was discovered aged 18 while working in a surf shop in California. “That was my entire career, doing weigh-ins. With model agencies, it was normal to get measured too, and I did it myself mainly, so when you had direct bookings without castings, [the clients] knew what they were getting. There were jobs I would turn up to and they would say my measurements were off and it was the worst feeling to be kicked off the job.”
“You were thrown off a job?” I ask, shocked. “It happened three times,” Chrissy says, before revealing the most hurtful moment. “The client had booked me directly. I had half my make-up done and they asked me to get up and take a few photos, to test the light. But they sent [the pictures] to my agency and the client fired me on the spot. I didn’t do any jobs without first going to a casting meeting for years after that.”
Today, in her beautiful home, with its floor-to-ceiling windows that reveal a vast swimming pool and the LA cityscape below, she is a thousand miles from her days of being a jobbing swimwear model, living in Miami and sleeping in a cramped flat. “It was a two-bedroom apartment and we had five people in it. I was tired of [living like that], so I moved into the living room,” she says, matter of factly.
Chrissy was seen out in NYC for a Pampers Press Day on wednesday, February 19th 2020. She was seen at the TODAY and Good Morning America studios before heading to the Conrad Midtown Hotel for more interviews. In the evening she was pictured heading back to her apartment.
